What happens if I don’t get an MOT?
It is your responsibility to have your car MOT tested every 12 months. If you do not have a valid current MOT certificate, you will not be able to drive your vehicle lawfully or be able to renew your car tax. You will also be in danger of invalidating your insurance, so it's vitally important you comply with the law regarding MOTs, especially as police camera units can check to see if you have a current MOT.
You could face a large on-the-spot fine, if found to be driving a vehicle without a valid MOT certificate.
